# Jak DAO fungují?

### Smart-kontrakty

Jádrem DAO jsou [smart-kontrakty](https://bankless.cz/studium/smart-kontrakty-a-jejich-vyuziti) (chytré kontrakty) na decentralizovaném [blockchainu](https://bankless.cz/studium/co-to-je-blockchain). Kontrakty definují pravidla organizace a kontrolují pokladnu. Jakmile jsou kontrakty na platformě v provozu, nikdo nemůže pravidla měnit jinak než hlasováním. Pokud se někdo pokusí udělat něco, co není pokryto pravidly a logikou v kódu, neuspěje. Protože je pokladna definována chytrým kontraktem, znamená to, že nikdo nemůže utratit peníze bez souhlasu skupiny. To znamená, že DAO nepotřebují centrální autoritu. Místo toho skupina rozhoduje kolektivně a platby jsou autorizovány automaticky po schválení pomocí hlasování.

To je možné díky tomu, že smart-kontrakty jsou po spuštění odolné proti manipulaci. Kód (pravidla DAO) nelze jen tak upravit, aniž by si toho lidé všimli, protože vše je veřejné.

### Blockchain

V současné době se pro provoz DAO smart-kontraktů využívá především [Ethereum](https://ethereum.org/) blockchain nebo na transakční poplatky ekonomičtější sidechainy [xDai](https://www.xdaichain.com/) či [Polygon](https://polygon.technology/).
